WHO WE ARE
Did you know that there is still a group of people that simply want to follow the bible and nothing but the bible. That is who we are as the church of Christ. We take very seriously the admonitions found in scripture, such as 1 Corinthians 4:6, that teach us to not think beyond what is written. We do not add to the word of God. We do not take away from the word of God. We have no man-made church by-laws. We have the word of God. We have no man-made church constitution. We have the word of God. We do not add to the word of God. We do not take away from the word of God. We have no man-made church discipline. We have the word of God. We have no creed other than… the word of God. Isn’t that refreshing! To simply follow Christ in obedience to His will. That is the goal of us as christians and that is our purpose together as Christ’s church.
WHAT WE DO
The first thing that people usually notice when they visit with us for the first time is that we do not have a piano or organ. Don’t let that fool you though. We love to sing. We love to raise our voices together as seek to strengthen one another and praise God making melody in our hearts (Eph 5:19). It is such a blessing and an encouragement as We bring the sacrifice of the fruit of our lips to our Father. we bring the sacrifice of the fruit of our lips to our Father. Of course prayer plays an integral part in our worship. Just knowing that we can cast our cares upon God for He cares for us prompts everyone of us to strive to pray effectively and fervently. We partake of the Lord’s supper every Lord’s day. It is a solemn time in which we proclaim the Lord’s death remembering His sacrifice and the covenant in His blood. It is also a solemn time of self-examination. It is communion. It is fellowship. It is us abiding in Christ and Christ abiding in us. We also give as the Lord has prospered us. We recognize that all blessings come from the Father of lights and we understand that it is truly more blessed to give than to receive. It is a free-will offering. Lastly we engage in preaching and the study of God’s word. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Rom 10:17). We strive to make sure we are rightly dividing the word of God, using it rather than abusing it. It is God’s will and in following it we become Christians. Together we are the Church of Christ.
